About Sam and Shape Bodywork

I trained as a Sports Massage Therapist in 2021 and after a decade long relationship with yoga, completed my 200hrs Yoga teacher Training in early 2022. I have a background in naturopathic nutrition and believe in holistic living.

While attending a workshop, I realized that Ayurvedic Yoga Massage was the thing that tied together my massage and yoga practices. I have since completed my full training in ayurvedic yoga massage, pregnancy massage and massage for neuropathic pain in the upper body.

I believe that working on a futon on the floor makes clients feel more grounded and more comfortable. This in turn allows deeper relaxation and a realignment of mind and body. In part, I work intuitively with my clients, responding to body, breath and energy but also encourage clients to communicate how they are feeling in order that their massage can be tailored to suit their needs and that we can work together to reduce pain and tension, increase relaxation and find space for profound rest.

Ayurvedic Yoga Massage

Ayurvedic massage is a dynamic, oil based bodywork practice in rooted Ayurvedic and yogic principles. Hands, forearms, elbows and feet are used to work into muscle and connective tissue.

Cupping

Cupping is a therapeutic bodywork technique that uses suction to gently
lift the skin and underlying tissues. Cupping helps promote lymphatic flow and blood flow, releases muscular tension and releases areas of chronic tension.

Facial Cupping

Facial cupping supports the body's natural detoxification process, stimulates collagen and releases tension in the jaw while fostering a sense of balance and renewal, benefiting both the appearance of the skin and inner wellbeing.
